Recently due to all the great movies coming out this fall and the inability to do much else I’ve seen 7 movies since primetime released and I figured I’d put my thoughts about them somewhere before I forget them.
This is all roughly in the order I watched them in.
After I watched this movie I saw someone online say that it’s more akin to a Dracula story than a biopic, and now I can’t see it any other way.
What I’m still left with a month after seeing it is a man on who’s been devoured by a craving to hunt evil and putting his hunt on display for everyone to see.
I am one of those people who really like the Resident Evil movies. I’ve also played my fair share of the games but am no means and expert. All that being said this is such and amazing adaptation of the feeling and settings you get put it while playing the games, and beyond that all of the mutations in this were genuinely horrifying.
I was actually very conflicted on whether or not to even see this movie. I’m sure this type of movie has a name and even in the movie they bring up farce and satire. It is much more on the nose movie similar to “Don’t look up” and “Mickey 17”, however this movie was much deeper than those dared to reach.
Digger was such and enjoyable movie for what it pushes you to think about how we make art to deal with the bad things in the world. And how we choose to tell stories in general. Above that it plays with the burnout most people have with these looming disasters that climate change brings and the stories that play with those.
The fights were pretty awesome in this movie but in reality the real savior of this movie is how gay everyone is.
In a somewhat unrelated note this movie made me realize how well paced the hunger games movies are.

Genuinely life changing work. I bought the book last week just to get the story again. Unbelievable how a movie can really make you feel in the mind of everyone in it. The book is probably gonna make me obnoxious and change my personality 10/10. Made me believe in love again.
You actually just have to see this one and once you see it. It also becomes the movie that needs the least explanation. This movie reminds me of a info hazard almost like once you start to watch it you have no choice but to participate. Trolly problem the movie in a way.
Might be my favorite live action Gotham to date. I really like how he’s big at the end. I’m also very happy that he’s a villain. This movie is right behind obsession in hardest watch of the year. I watched the airplane scene with my hand almost covering my eyes.
I would say LAIKA used magic to make this movie but it’s even better because is was pure human effort to made the movie look this good an absolute technical artistic achievement to see. On top of that it is also an amazing story that covers such a wide range of human troubles. I could talk about this movie for days I can’t wait to watch it 10000 times.
IF YOU HAVE SEEN ANY GOOD MOVIES RECENTLY LET ME KNOW. AND A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO BLAIRSVILLE CINEMA
